From Boardroom to Backpacks: Our New Adventure Begins!

Published on 25 June 2025 at 21:47

Life has a funny way of rerouting you, doesn't it? Just a few months ago, my days were a whirlwind of deadlines, meetings, and the organized chaos of balancing a demanding career with being a mom to one amazing little human. My "uniform" often involved an assortment of business casual clothing, my "breaks" were coffee runs, and my evenings were a careful dance of dinner, bath, and bedtime stories before diving back into emails.

Fast forward to today, and my life looks… well, entirely different. The blazer has been swapped for yoga pants (most days!), the coffee runs are now walks around the block with a stroller, and my evenings are less about spreadsheets and more about lesson plans. You see, we've embarked on a brand new adventure: I've traded my corporate career for the rewarding, challenging, and often unpredictable role of a stay-at-home mom to two incredible kids, and we've officially started our homeschooling journey!

It's a huge leap, one I'm still wrapping my head around. Going from a working mom of one to a stay-at-home mom of two (yes, there's a new little co-pilot in our crew!) while simultaneously taking on the role of primary educator is, to put it mildly, a lot. There are days filled with triumphs – the "aha!" moment when a concept clicks for my oldest, the sweet snuggles from my baby, the unexpected pockets of peace. And then there are the other days… the ones where I wonder if I've permanently misplaced my adulting skills, if I'll ever finish a cup of coffee hot, or if I'm even remotely qualified to teach fractions. (Spoiler alert: I'm learning right alongside them!)

This blog is going to be a space to share the honest, messy, beautiful, and sometimes bewildering reality of this new chapter. We'll talk about the joys and struggles of homeschooling, the art of balancing the needs of a pre-teen and a newborn, finding my footing as a full-time home manager, and rediscovering who I am outside of a job title. It's about finding rhythm in the everyday, celebrating the small victories, and learning to lean into the unpredictable nature of home and education.

If you're a mom navigating a similar transition, dreaming of it, or just curious about what life looks like on the other side of the corporate ladder and inside a homeschool bubble, I hope you'll join me. We're all in this together, figuring it out one day, one lesson, and one tantrum (theirs or mine!) at a time.

Thanks for stopping by! Let's embark on this journey together.
